Meet Your Counsellor
My Story
I'm Tracy, and my greatest passion is helping people. I have two decades of experience counselling children, teens and families. I am a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and the Ontario Association of Child and Youth Counsellors. It is such a blessing to be invited into the stories of so many people. It is an honour to walk alongside people and provide encouragement, guidance, and strategies to help them through some of the most difficult times of their lives. I have learned so much along the way, both from my education in Child and Youth Counselling, but also from my journey of faith in Jesus Christ and my experience of life.

I recognize that the role of a parent can be the toughest but most rewarding role we may ever have. My journey of parenthood has brought me the greatest of joys and the deepest of sorrows. In 2007, my 17-year-old son Matthew died suddenly in a dirt-bike accident. Our family has never been the same. Out of the hardest of times, healing has birthed in me a greater compassion for people that are hurting. I feel so privileged to walk alongside so many grieving families. I continue to work with people dealing with loss and lead a grief-share group for all ages. I have worked with many grieving families in all stages of grief, from the first days after a loss to multiple years.
With over 18 years of experience working in the public school system as a Youth Counsellor paired with a background of faith, I work equally well with those who have religious beliefs and those who do not. As a Youth Counsellor for the school board, I worked with individual children, groups and entire classrooms teaching children about their emotions and coping strategies. I bring a unique understanding of how to support your child at home and at school. Several years ago, I started working with children and youth privately alongside working in the school system. In January 2023, I retired early from the school system to focus primarily on my private practice. I am so glad I did! There is no place I'd rather be.

When I'm not counselling, I enjoy spending time with my husband Quinn, my two boys Micheal and Daniel and our beautiful daughter-in-law Abby! I enjoy music, hiking, kayaking, being outdoors, travelling and spending time with friends. My favourite places to spend time are at home and our home away from home at Elim Lodge Campground.
